Hello Visitor and Welcome to my Blog!
My name is Preena aka Bookshortie
I love to read and I have since I was very very young. I’ve been wanting to set up a blog for years but I’ve never had the chance. I always use to post about the books I was reading on my personal Instagram and Twitter page. Then I decided to set up a Bookstagram account and found a whole community of people that love books as much as I do. Since joining Bookstagram I’ve been involved in many book tours, book blitz’s, cover reveals and received copies of books to read and review from authors and publishers. This then quickly led to a book based Twitter account where I discovered more people whole love books followed by this blog.
So you’re probably wondering what do I like to read? The answer is anything and everything. I’m a mood reader so I read books from all genres as long as the synopsis grabs my attention. I’m a big fan of classics, romance, contemporary fiction, fantasy, crime/true crime, biographies and YA but have found since joining Bookstagram that I’m reading more thrillers, horror or anything that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat.

As you’ll see from the picture I’m never without a book. Even when I visited the Brontë Parsonage in 2013. This is one of my favourite pictures and one of my most memorable visits. I’d always wanted to go to the Brontë Parsonage since I can remember as I am a big fan of the Brontë sisters. One of my favourite novels is Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. I read Wuthering Heights when I was 11 years old. My Year 7 teacher at secondary school realised that I enjoyed reading and was an advanced reader so after speaking to the head of the English department and my parents it was decided that I would be given the same work as the Year 11 GCSE students. That happened to be Wuthering Heights and since then it’s a novel that has a special place in my heart and had a significant impact on my book journey.
I’ve been asked many times why the name Bookshortie. Well when I was thinking about setting up a Bookstagram account I wasn’t sure what I should call it. I had many ideas but I wanted a name that was original and unique to me hence Bookshortie; Book because I love to read books and Shortie because I’m very petite (we’re talking fairy size here).
So now you’ve stumbled across my blog please do have a look around and follow my bookish journey whilst I attempt to conquer the world one book at a time.
