My Review

As teenagers Sebastian and Felicity were very much in love until one day Sebastian disappeared. He never told Felicity that he was leaving, the reason behind why he was leaving or tried to make contact with her. Sixteen years later Sebastian makes a sudden appearance back into Felicity’s life. How will Sebastian and Felicity react to seeing each other again? How will Sebastian react to the news that it wasn’t just Felicity he left behind all those years ago.

I absolutely adored this book. The storyline was warm and captivating. It was easy to connect with the characters in the book. Both Felicity and Sebastian were well written. Felicity is still upset that Sebastian disappeared without a word and Sebastian is reluctant to approach Felicity. As soon as Felicity and Sebastian see each other there is that instant spark as if they’ve never been apart. One thing was obvious from that first encounter that the love between them is still there and has never gone away. Their connection further intensifies the more time they spend together.

This was definitely a slow burn romance, that suited the storyline and pace perfectly especially as the plot revolves around two lovers meeting again after a significant period of time. There’s also a parallel storyline running alongside the romance element which explores the backgrounds to both Felicity’s and Sebastian’s families but importantly why Sebastian left and never returned. I definitely loved the fact that the book had a happily ever after ending. This is the first book in the Claiming the Ferrington Empire series and I honestly can’t wait to read the next book.

A story about a second chance romance, unrequited love and reunited soul mates.

Author Bio

Rachael Stewart adores conjuring up stories for the readers of Harlequin Mills & Boon and Deep Desires Press, with tales varying from the heartwarmingly romantic to the wildly erotic.

She’s been writing since she could put pen to paper as the stacks of scrawled on A4 sheets in her loft will attest to, and the lovingly bound short stories that her father would run off at work and proudly share out with his colleagues. Thinking it was a pipe dream to be published one day, she pursued a sensible career in business but she was really play-acting, achieving the appropriate degree and spending many years in the corporate world where she never truly belonged. Always happiest when she was sat at her laptop in the quiet hours tapping out a story or two. And so here she is, a published author, her full-time pleasure, a dream come true.

A Welsh lass at heart, she now lives in Yorkshire with her husband and three children, and if she’s not glued to her laptop, she’s wrapped up in them or enjoying the great outdoors seeking out inspiration.
